Former Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Hon. Kingsley Kuku was on Saturday, February 17, 2024 installed as the L’oson of Ondo Kingdom.
The chieftaincy conferment on Kuku was done by High Chief Ambrose Akinsade, the Jomo of Odo-Jomo in Ondo kingdom. The chieftaincy conferment was in recognition of the fact that the maternal great grandmother of Kingsley Kuku was a princess of Ondo kingdom.
The decision to confer chieftaincy title on the former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs was also hinged on the necessity to celebrate him as one of the many illustrious sons of Ondo kingdom.
All roads led to Ondo kingdom on Saturday as dignitaries joined the environmentalist to celebrate his well deserved installation as the L’oson of Ondo Kingdom.
While conferring the title, the Jomo of Odo-Jomo, High Chief described Kingsley Kuku as a worthy son of Ondo, whose maternal great grandmother was a notable princess of the kingdom. He equally said Kuku was truly deserving of the title of L’oson of Ondo Kingdom because of his immense contributions to the restoration of peace to the Niger Delta region as well as the economic development of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, L’oson of Ondo Kingdom is the second highest title in the Ojomu dynasty of Odo-Jomo in Ondo Kingdom. The title is next to Loton Ujomu in the chieftaincy hierarchy of Odo-Jomo in Ondo kingdom.
Dignitaries that attended the chieftaincy conferment include High Chief Akin-Olaniyan, the Odofin of Ondo Kingdom;
Chief Aba Oluwase Ogunye, the Lotujomu of Ondo Kingdom; High Chief F.O Akinrujomu, the Jomu of Igushin land ; Chief Akinsande, the Layegbo of Ondo Kingdom; and Chief Adetutu Tolu, the Lighoo of Ondo Kingdom.
Others were Hon. Kemi Adesanya, Hon. Kennedy Perei, PDP Publicity Secretary in Ondo State and Chief Ebenezer Alabi, former Chairman of PDP in Ondo State amongst others.
