The scriptures says “teach us to number our days that we may apply our heart into wisdom”. Psalm 90 v 12.
The years spent in the past is gone, but its memories are still with us. Today is here, to make the best out of it is what’s crucial, because tomorrow is for God, so we can only hope for the best. This is the story of every human being. While we are still living, we celebrate ourselves, not just for our achievements, but also for how we have been able to positively affect the lives of others. This is key in whatever that we do.
Aside numeric calculation of one’s longevity on earth and euphoria of celebration, birthday anniversary is a special day to think and thank the maker of oneself for His kindness enjoyed so far over the years.
Today, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe, the federal lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Fed. Constituency at the House of Reps., a man of many parts, and one of the most patriotic Ondo state politician. His lifestyle and landmark achievements should be one thing that should either inspire or motivate us.
Over sixty years, Hon. Adelegbe has been able to etch an indelible imprints in the sands of time to the admiration of his legion of fans and supporters not even in small measures. He<span;> has chosen to walk the noble path, by not only being a source of blessing to the members of his family alone, but also to the society.
Definitely, one can come to conclude that he’s a man chosen and blessed at he clocks 62 years today, that living has always been about for the greater good of others. He is an individual who understands that the true wealth of a man is not measured only by the worth of his material gains but also by the numbers of lives which he has impacted.
Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe, a humane, unassuming, accommodating and kind-hearted being. His humble beginning as a banker, a lawmaker, and an achiever even before coming to the green chamber is indeed worthy of study. His sterling leadership qualities made him an enviable and cherishing rallying figure in Ondo state political space.
Born on the 5th of March, 1962 in Okeluse, Ose local government area of Ondo State, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe rose from a very humble background, diligently working his way up imbibing the values of hardwork, honesty, perseverance and consistency. He never gave up nor succumb to the various challenges that comes his way.
The young Timehin obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate in 1984 and proceeded to Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti, where he obtained Bachelor of Science, Economics in 1988 with a Second Class Upper division. He had moved a step higher to Edo State University, where he obtained Master in Business Administration in year 2000.
Adelegbe began his working career at the Maiduguri branch of Central Bank of Nigeria from 1988 to 1989. He afterwards moved over to Sevan Construction Company Limited where he was saddled with the responsibilities of Public Relations Officer and Accountant of the company from 1989 to 1995.
Timehin later took up the responsibility of a Credit Officer with Corporate Guarantee Trust, a financial outfit between 1996 and 1997. He became the Credit cum Finance Manager of the financial institution from 1997 to 1999.
He was however poached by the defunct Standard Trust Bank, where he worked as the Investment/Credit Analyst from year 2000 to 2003. Adelegbe was promoted severally and given quite a number of commendations at the bank before moving over to Pacific Bank Limited. He held the responsibility of a branch manager at Unity Bank PLC that later acquired Pacific Bank during the recapitalization exercise of banks in Nigeria.
He was voted the best staff of the bank in 2006. Timehin was subsequently saddled with the responsibility of Head of States and Local Government accounts. This oversight function covered the whole of Southern part of Nigeria which comprises of seventeen (17) states. He rose to the positions of Regional Manager, Senior Manager and Assistant General Manager of Ibadan region of the bank.
Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carlbridge Solutions Limited from year 2008 till date. The company is deeply into debt recovery and credit restructuring with mandates from institutions such as Pencom, FMBN, Union Bank, AIICO, Keystone Bank, Mainstreet Bank and Abuja Leasing Company. Carlbridge Solutions is currently working with Eartholeum Nigeria Limited, a Central Bank of Nigeria approved company on the cashless policy of the federal government.
He’s also the Chairman of Bon Royal Parklane Hotel and Suites, one of the best 5-star hotels in Akure, with over 60 rooms situated at the center of Ijapo estate, Akure.
Hon. Adelegbe has attended quite a number of local and international trainings amongst which are: Professional Selling Skills in year 2000, Strategic Re-Engineering Retreat in year 2004, Reforming the Nation’s Economy through Professional Approach in 2004 and Euro Money Credit Training in year 2007. Other local trainings attended by Timehin include Leadership Training at the Lagos Business School in 2006, Secured.
Ever since his emergence as the lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in Ondo State, the cheerful personality that is Otunba Timehin Adelegbe has continued to live a life worthy of his mandate as a true representative of the people. He has not only worked with a scandal free tenure neither has he drawn any bad press for himself, instead he has continued to chart new and better ways to advance the cause of his people.
Every time his name is mentioned in the papers, there is a new project or empowerment programme to his name. Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe won his election the second time as member representing Owo/Ose Federal Consituency at the House of Representatives Abuja as one of the ranking member, a position which he got into not through a sudden flight but majorly by virtue of hard work, commitment and higher intellectual disposition and uncommon human relationship acumen. He remains an astute politician in Ondo state, as an experienced finance expert and a notable businessman par excellence. It is therefore not surprising that he has continued to gain greater admiration, heights and support base, virtually in all his endevours.
Since his emergence, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe has sponsored bills and moved motions that have in no mean measure substantially improved the lots of greater number of the people in his federal constituency. He has equally promoted the economic wellbeing and social status of his constituents, while he has also attracted developmental projects to Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. He has become a poster face for quality representation and leadership and it’s a plus for our socio-political environment to have a role model like him for both present and next generation of politicians and change agents.
As he celebrates 62 years of journey of grace today, it is every of his admirers prayer that God grants him more grace and strength to act in bigger capacities to advance the cause of mankind for the greater good of all.
