ADELEGBE CONGRATULATES EHINDERO OVER ELECTORAL VICTORY, SAYS DEMOCRACY THRIVES WHEN PEOPLE REWARD COMPETENCE AND QUALITY REPRESENTATION
The federal lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Fed. Constituency at the green chamber of the national assembly, Abuja, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe has congratulated Ife Ehindero on his electoral victory in the just concluded saturday 3rd February, 2024, by-election of the Akoko NW/NE Federal Constituency.
Adelegbe who is a two term serving rep., member commends the electorate in Akoko North West/North East for their strategic participation in the electoral process affirming the resilience of democratic institution and the power of the people in shaping the political landscape.
The APC Chieftain, noted that the outcome of the by-election clearly shows the wishes of the people of the constituency, apting on the fact that democracy thrives faster when the people reward some level of competence and quality representation.
Commending the electoral umpire, INEC, and the security agents, Hon. (Dr.) Adelegbe lauded peaceful conduct of the process, providing a level playing ground for all contestants and maintaining law and order before, during and after the election.
Envisaging a continuous quality representation Ehindero will bring into the federal constituency, Hon. Adelegbe appreciated the leadership role and the political dexterity of Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, the Interior Minister, for providing that large platform for good governance such that many Nigerians enjoy the dividend of democracy.
“Let me say a big congratulations to my friend Ehindero for this resounding victory, which is a tacit acknowledgement by good people of Akoko NW/NE of his outstanding track record in serving the needs of the people.
“I must also commend the voters for your involvement, ensuring that another best hand leads in the entrenchement of participatory democracy for the betterment of political atmosphere.
“No doubt, this victory is a confirmation of people’s choice and when competence is been rewarded by the electorates.
“I must commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the level playing field and the security agencies ensuring the election was held in a conducive atmosphere.
“While I look towards seeing a more quality representation the rep member-elect will bring to the federal constituency, I will also express my gratitude to and lauded the leadership roles played by the Interior Minister, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, for creating an avenue where everyone enjoys dividends of good governance”.
